Muzeum Szkoły Szczególnej Leśnictwa, założonej w 1816 roku, było jednym z najstarszych muzeów leśnych w Europie. Zostało ono zlikwidowane w ramach represji po powstaniu listopadowym, a kolekcja zagrabiona. Artykuł podsumowuje stan naszej wiedzy na temat historii i zbiorów tego muzeum. Punktem wyjścia analizy były badania historii żubrów z Warszawskiego Gabinetu Zoologicznego. W artykule omówiono związki tego muzeum z gabinetem. Przeanalizowano zawartość kolekcji i jej rozwój na podstawie dostępnych źródeł historiograficznych. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono żubrowi oraz kolekcji mineralogicznej i entomologicznej. Losy tych cennych dla historii nauki zbiorów, najprawdopodobniej wywiezionych do Rosji po 1832 roku, pozostają nieznane.

MUSEUM OF THE SPECIAL FORESTRY SCHOOL, AND THE WARSAW ZOOLOGICAL CABINET – A LOOK AT THE BEGINNINGS OF NATURAL MUSEOLOGY IN THE CONGRESS KINGDOM OF POLAND
S u m m a r y
The Museum of the Special Forestry School, founded in 1816, was one of the oldest forest museums in Europe. It was liquidated as part of the repression after the November Uprising, and the collection was stolen. The article summarizes our state of knowledge about the history and collections of this museum. The starting point for the analysis was research into the history of the bison from the Warsaw Zoological Cabinet. The article discusses the relationship of this museum with the Cabinet. The content of the collection and its development were analyzed based on available historiographic sources. Particular attention was paid to the bison and mineralogical and entomological collections. The fate of these valuable collections of history, most likely taken to Russia after 1832, remains unknown.
